Going Green With MAN Trucks:

Emphasis is placed on lowering Carbon emissions within the Transport industry. Vital will be partnering with MAN Trucks in their TGS EfficientLine endeavour.
Vital embarked upon a Green Initiative campaign in a bid to minimize our Carbon Footprint. Vital continues to commission Euro 4 and 5 engine vehicles, including the TGS Efficient liners from MAN Trucks. In the last couple of years the technology has surpassed expectation and have we noted a definitive decrease in CO2 emissions.

The aim of the efficiency package as provided by MAN is to reduce the need for power and as result fuel consumption and carbon emissions. MAN propose to reduce fuel consumption by reducing the targets and indicated in table below with the components as listed.

Our planet is V I T A L initiatives includes:

CO2 Reporting – factors such as fuel, electricity and water consumption monitored against km and man hours.

Recycling – various recycling initiatives have been adopted which includes, paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, printer cartridges, and some stationery items

Truck Wash – Making use of high pressure machinery, where water loss is minimal.  Positive impact on water consumption was noted in the last year.

Water-wise gardening – taken a developing approach to gardening with the first water wise garden at Vital Head Office
