Green Initiatives
Emphasis is placed on lowering Carbon emissions within the Transport Industry. Vital partners with several service providers to lower carbon emissions.
Going Green With MAN Trucks:
Emphasis is placed on lowering Carbon emissions within the Transport industry. Vital will be partnering with MAN Trucks in their TGS EfficientLine endeavour.
Vital embarked upon a Green Initiative campaign in a bid to minimize our Carbon Footprint. Vital continues to commission Euro 4 and 5 engine vehicles, including the TGS Efficient liners from MAN Trucks. In the last couple of years the technology has surpassed expectation and have we noted a definitive decrease in CO2 emissions.
Our planet is V I T A L initiatives includes:
CO2 Reporting – factors such as fuel, electricity and water consumption monitored against km and man hours.
Recycling – various recycling initiatives have been adopted which includes, paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, printer cartridges, and some stationery items
Truck Wash – Making use of high pressure machinery, where water loss is minimal. Positive impact on water consumption was noted in the last year.
Water-wise gardening – taken a developing approach to gardening with the first water wise garden at Vital Head Office
Eco-driver Training – all drivers will receive training on how to be environmentally minded while doing deliveries
Green Canteen – all packaging and serving items are made of compostable and bio-degradable material, enabling a cradle to cradle effect with the waste derived from the canteen at Vital Head Office.
Arbor Day – supporter of planting indigenous trees every year
War on Plastic – not supporting plastic packaging within our control

Office and Sundry:
In recognising that the management of the environment is an integral part of its daily operation, Vital has developed an Environmental Policy that will manage its activities that may have an environmental impact, by committing to:
- Continuously improve in reducing carbon emissions that have an environmental impact
- Minimize pollution
- Maximise energy efficiency
- Carbon footprint trace all activities
- Optimise and control the use of water
- Implement environmental purchasing
Vital is committed to actively promote sustainable environmental development awareness amongst its employees, by means of monthly internal communication where employees are encouraged to work in an environmentally responsible manner.
